Purely a coincidence how this lined up but the next two songs on the list are solid Saturday night jams.

Christmas Will Really Be Christmas by the Black Pumas

The Black Pumas are a newish but regular part of my year-round Spotify rotation. So when they put this song out I was happy to add it to my Christmas playlist.

This song is the funky cranberry-jalapeno-cream-cheese appetizer you didn’t know you were missing, and can’t stop eating. Not sure if I like the piano/organ blend or the lead vocal/background vocal blend more. The inclusivity of the lyrics is fantastic too.

This one is a solid addition to the Saturday Christmas party jam session mix so it is number 17 on this year’s list.

Christmas Calling (Jolly Jones) by Norah Jones

Pour the glass of wine you don’t need because it’s time for kitchen-dancing sing along with your ride-or-die peeps. This song is the Bailey’s on ice to end a night with those you love most.

Could not be more true of this song as I first heard it on a mix one of my favorite peeps sent out a few years back. If you are circling the sun with a group of friends that has been there for it all then you have won the lottery. Next time you are with that group on the holidays I hope maybe these two tracks add to the fun.
